Adaptor - Straight (M X FS) NTM - NPSM - SAE Specification

A Straight Adaptor (M x FS) NTM - NPSM - SAE Specification is a hydraulic fitting designed to connect:

• NTM (NPT Male): National Pipe Tapered male thread, which seals via thread deformation and typically requires thread sealant.
• FS (NPSM Female Swivel): National Pipe Straight Mechanical female swivel thread, which mates with a 30° chamfer on the male end to create a metal-to-metal seal.
• SAE Specification: These fittings conform to SAE J514 for mechanical performance and dimensional standards.
• Thread Types:
  • NPT Male: Tapered thread (ASME B1.20.1)
  • NPSM Female Swivel: Straight thread with a 30° cone seat
• Seal Type: Metal-to-metal seal between the 30° cone and chamfer; NPT side may require PTFE tape or thread sealant
• Material: Commonly carbon steel, stainless steel (AISI 304/316), or brass
• Pressure Rating: Up to 340 bar (approx. 5,000 psi) depending on size and material
